The Crossover Kidz features Matthew "Muz" Rose and Drew "Droobee" Gilbert. The duo met at Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2010. Bob Log III

Bob Log III is one crazy mother. He plays in a pilot's helmet and a human cannon ball suit. He describes himself as a one man band boom, "Bob Log the third, one-man band, Tucson, Arizona. Heyeeeh! Lemme introduce the band to ya. On cymbals, left foot. Over here on the bass drum we got right foot. Shut up! This is my left hand that does all the slide work, right hand does the pickin'. My mouth hole does most of the talkin'. And you're looking at my finger. My finger is an asshole."

He plays under Fat Possum records, and used to open for R.L. Burnside. He now tours alone, playing shows that involve the audience. His signiture move is a song called "Boob Scotch" during which a female audience member typically mixes his scotch drink with her boob. Rappers are poppin bottles but Bob Log is getting bitches to stir his drink with they boobies... awesome. He may be crazy, but he has a unique blues sound that rocks socks. This line pretty much sums him up, "I'm a professional, God damn it. I live in a car." Nice.

Burlap to Cashmere

I'm pretty excited about these guys. Burlap to Cashmere is a group that emerged in the mid-1990s with a Mediterranean folk influence. They fizzled out and laid dormant for about a decade, but have joined together once again, inspired in large part by the near death of the guitarist, John Philippidis.

Though I hate to compare the sounds of different bands, it is hard not to think of Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, or Rodrigo y Gabriela when you first listen to these guys. The combination of fantastic guitar picking and the melodious voice of lead singer, Steven Delopoulos, makes me think that these guys could be the new Mumford and Sons.

They haven't released much music at this point considering they just signed with Jive Records, but keep your ears open and check out some of their other music.

Revolving Doors - Gorillaz

In December, the Gorillaz released an album, The Fall, which was written and recorded all while these dudes were on tour. Its pretty incredible that an entire album can be produced while on the road. Especially, when the every song is created on an iPad.

And no I didn't stutter. An iPad. I will admit, I was kind of a hater toward tablets at first. I thought it was just a bigger iPhone, without the whole phone thing. iPads are the tits and are going to/are becoming the future for technology. If you don't believe me, watch the video below...

Lock Down - Ya Boy ft. Akon

Hey I just want to apologize to everyone for the week-long delay. Three of our writers including myself were punishing our livers on Spring Break in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the week. You can be guaranteed that things will pick up starting now. We're also working on some sweet synamic views for the site that will make improve Tune-Spoon drastically by allowing yall to listen through our posted music much quicker...

Here's some Akon and Ya Boy rapping over a pretty rockin' electric guitar riff.

Indie Sauce

OK, first off, sorry for the lack of posting on behalf of all of us. We've been churning out exams then gettin' freak-nasty on SB2K11. But besides all that, we're back and we're black(er).

To make up for the serious lack of posting, I've got a handful of some quack-tastic that will get your spring sprung.

The Morning - The Weeknd
So first off we've got The Weeknd, who is a Toronto dude, Abel Tesfaye, who has started to make a name for himself since the beginning of this week. He is an R&B/soul singer with an amazing voice, and deep, dark lyrics. There's something a little bizarre about listening to some hardcore lyrics behind his soft voice. But, hey, if Natalie Portman can shave her head and still look fine as f*&%, I see no reason to put down this dude. Plus, it's got a sick beat with some catchy guitar riffs.

Beggin' - Madcon
Next, we've got Madcon, a hip-hop duo from Norway (who'd-a-thunk-it). These guys have been around since 1992 and have toured around with Wu-Tang, Busta, 50 Cent, and latest up to date, Gang Starr. The dudes are a little fruity, but good nonetheless.

Eclectic Prawn - Dumbo Gets Mad
The two Italian folks from Dumbo Gets Mad look about what I would expect from listening to their tunes. They've got a psychedelic, mellow feel that reminds me a lot of 60's music. They kill it on the organs and incorporate a number of different instruments in their jams.

I Love U So - Cassius
These guys are French. Franch. Frank. Metro. Francois. Bitches. French. I don't really know much about them except that this is the most masculine picture I can find, so I would guess they probably wouldn't help the US in war either. Their music is not bad, though. Give it a shot and try not to generalize like I just did.

The Bike Song (feat. Kyle Flaconer & Spank Rock) - Mark Ronson & The Business Intl
And, I saved the best for last. This is the perfect springtime jam. If you haven't heard of this dude already, Mark Ronson is one of the most respected DJs in the game right now. Get on it if you haven't already. Your bike that is...

OK cool. I think I'm kind of caught up now. I got some more PHat tunes for a little later.

"Lament" - Mount Moriah

Mount Moriah is an up-and-coming folk indie group from Durham, NC. This girl is just as beautiful as her voice is. Few people could sing this line and still sound angelic: "And a mouth full of bees couldn't stop me from whispering that I don't love you." Ouch... For all parties involved. My only complaint about this song is that it isn't long enough, but I'm not above putting it on repeat (for hours). I would definitely watch out for Mount Moriah this year. I predict more where this came from.

All We Do Is - Paper Diamond

I saw Alex B, also known as Paper Diamond, play for the first time in Athens this past weekend. It was after a very long day spent at SAE Shower Cap, so if anyone was going to get the crowd dancing - it would be him. He's a music producer in Colorado, which is evidenced by the precision of his music. And he definitely knows how to play to the crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the next cash cow for Pretty Lights Music, the record label he just signed with. I can't say I remember if he played this song or not, but it's sick so listen to it. And if you don't know about soundcloud (rookie), the little downward arrow is the download sign.

You Be Killin' Em - Fabulous (Prod. by Ryan Leslie)

Back in the days of Street Dreams, I used to love Fabulous. I thought he had fallen off the map, but this afternoon my friend Gibert made me aware of this tune that will make you bob your head and laugh at the same time.

Truly Get Yours - Damu the Fudgemunk

Either artists are getting very desperate with their names, or absolute ingenious. Damu the Fudgemunk comes somewhere in between. It's a unique name so you won't forget it, but it will always in some way be associated with a pile of shit.

Besides that, Damu has got some awesome music. He sticks with an old school jazzy-soul vibe that sounds a lot like A Tribe Called Quest. A nice chill beat to relax to...

Daps - Ground Up

This just makes me laugh. Sorry no download yet.

"Surely, you have anotha hobby,
That involves you bein quiet,
That is all that I desire,
Some bud and a bassline is all that I require.

We buildin’ up a movement,
Startin’ up a riot,
My boys neva seen room service at the Hyatt,
So put us in the penthouse… or you’ll be puttin’ out a fire."

One - Pmac

For the first 25 seconds of this video you're going to be like what? And then you're gonna be like what! Pmac is apparently becoming pretty popular in the San Francisco area, and I'm not surprised - dude's got talent. In the background, you can hear the sample of Three Dog Night’s version of “One,” which was originally recorded by Harry Nilsson. The video is directed by Ray Pajar and Rollie Beats is on the boards. I've got to give props to those guys as well. Great music and video production.

Above is the video of the Live in Studio recording of "Get What You Deserve" by the Derek Trucks band. "Hot Sauce Committee Part Two" - Beastie Boys

YES!!!!!!!!! I WISH YOU COULD HEAR THE VOLUME AND EXCITEMENT OF MY WRITING!!!! I NEVER USE EXCLAMATION POINTS BECAUSE I THINK THEY SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR VALLEY GIRL TEXT MESSAGES!!!! Ok, that's enough, and never again.

BUT, Beastie Boys are coming out with a new album on May 3rd, and it sounds like it is gonna be siiiiiiiick. From the songs I have heard so far, it sounds like they are, for the most part, hanging on to their old school style. Also, below is a track recorded with my dog, Nas. Spin that legit shit, never never quit.

The video above is a promo for the upcoming album and the 30 min video that comes along with it. I can recognize at least 9 of some of the funniest actors in Hollywood in this 2 minute clip, so I can only imagine what this movie is gonna be like.

When I Paint My Masterpeice

Bobby is definitely tripping on Letterman. So glad I got to see him and Lesh play this weekend when Furthur came to town. I don't know how to describe it concisely, so I'll just say that it was as moving as it was memorable. The following, the atmosphere, the music - it was unlike anything I'd ever been a part of. Like Jerry says in the clip, "There was a sense of history going on there, and everyone was conscious of it." Heady stuff. Here's a song Furthur played that night. It made me nostalgic for something I wasn't even alive for.

Datsik

If you're looking for a little more versitility in your dub-step, Datsik is for sure the way to go. It's almost hard to believe these two songs were done by the same guy. The first is dub-intensive with a super heavy drop. (Thanks Hayden for playing it for me first) And the second is a dreamy, euphoric spin on Coldplay's "Fix You." Don't go running from it just because you see Coldplay and you don't want to lose street cred. I respect the shit out of Datsik for taking on this sappy pop ballad and fixing it - no pun intended. Quite the bold move. SO give it a whirl - I promise you'll be googling for more of his stuff after.

Radiodread - Easy Star All-Stars

The whole genre of Dub music is pretty much non-existent on our blog. Giving the rising temperatures and sun, we are all going to be listening to a little more reggae. For those who don't know, Dub is just reggae covers of previously recorded songs. The Easy Star All-Stars have released several Dub albums, including covers of Pink Floyd and The Beatles. Radiodread always reminds me of the beach, probably because I first heard it there.

New Fleet Foxes

I feel like an IDIOT for not posting these songs earlier, but here they are.

Fleet Foxes have come out with several new songs, so here are a few of them.

If you don't who know the Fleet Foxes are yet, wake the funk up. They have some of the best vocals and harmonizing of any music group present today. If there was a soundtrack for your journey up to heaven, you would be floating on a cloud with these guys dressed in white garb and Morgan Freeman whispering in your ear, "You're the man, (your name). You're the man."

If U Want To (Pharrell & Lupe Fiasco) - Travis Barker

OK, now I get it...

At first, I thought Travis Barker ditched his drumset for a DJ stand. I was wrong, I was wrong...whew. Regardless of what you think of Blink-182 (if you grew up in the 90's and didn't like at least one of their songs, go bury yourself), Travis Barker can shred on the drums.

Barker lays a great drum beat, mixed with Pharrell Williams' turntable skills and Lupe's flows.

Bada-bing cash money.

A Millions Years - Alexander Ebert

Alexander Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros, decided to go solo. His debut album dropped March 1st. Most of the songs on it he wrote and recorded in his bedroom while on breaks from touring with the band. He plays every instrument. Here's "A Million Years" off of that album. Classic feel-good folk from Ebert.

More Team Teamwork

Here is one of his older tapes, and my favorite songs on it.
