Don't often post country here, but these two are worth it. Both "Knee Deep" by the Zac Brown Band ft. Jimmy Buffett and Dirt Road Anthem by Jason Aldean and Luda make you wanna crack a cold one and hit the beach. Thanks goes out to Buddy Cawta for both of these two summer sizzlers.
Two of my favorite rappers do the dishes in this new release. I've said for a while that I think British rapper Tinie Tempah is one of the best even though he isn't so prominent in America yet. Add Wiz on the chorus and a techno-ey beat and you've got a solid tune.

Pretty crazy song, "Bionic Commando Rusko Remix". Even crazier dancing. If you haven't heard of The Art of Teknique before, check 'em out. They have one numerous big name dancing competitions, and their ages are 8, 9, and 10. I don't understand physically how you can be that good at that age. Damn.
Buckle just showed me this fresh dig. It's french so you know it's fancy. Kidding. Homeboys based out of Austria, but I guess they have some culture too.
So I'm back from my month-or-so-long hiatus to bring you some jams from the Phish shows I went to last weekend in Charlotte and Raleigh. It was hard to choose which ones to share since the shows were packed with so many of my favorites - especially NICU - shout out to Emily Joye on that one. Colonel Forbin's Ascent was one of the many Gamehendge songs they played throughout the weekend, which was awesome to be a part of. The 11-minute Wolfman's Brother is probably one of the best versions I've heard, same goes for Ghost. I feel super privileged to have gotten such amazing sets both nights - so I'm glad I get to share some of what I heard with you all. Enjoy

Kopecky Family Band is not a family act. In fact, no one in the “Family Band” is related. I would feel really sorry for a mother who had 6-7 college aged children at once.
These guys come from my hometown, Nashville, TN, where they are currently taking classes at Belmont University. They have recently made appearances at both SXSW and Bonnaroo and are steadily growing in popularity. I love the extensive string section they bring to the band. Straight Cash(ville) hommie.
While this most definitely is not related to tunes, I think a lot of people can appreciate where I’m coming from with this…
So the NFL Lockout, makes me soft. There is nothing more depressing than looking into the future and foreseeing an NFL-less fall and winter. Wrist-cutting, pill-chomping, hose-linked-up-to-your-car-exhaust-in-the-garage depressing. In a desperate effort to comfort myself during this miserable time of uncertainty, I had an idea. YouTube.
You can find just about any play from any year that has some kind of significance in the sports world. So after doing a little YouTube surfing, I had an idea…
We’re gunna rank our favorite plays, players, hits, catches, touchdown celebration, etc. It’s our last hope. If these money-grubbing owners don’t give me a season, I will go ape shit. Absolutely APE SHIT. So here’s the ground rules:
1. I will put up several videos based on a certain topic (big hits, killer catches, nut kicks mid-game).
2. You will vote which play/player is the best.
3. It doesn’t have to be NFL. It can be NCAA, highschool, pee-wee, women’s league, etc.
4. You will get your fix for one day.
5. You will talk shit to the losers about how awesome your team/player is.
6. You will wait until we put up another one of these things.
Capiche?
So here's the first poll: Who Lays the Wood the Hardest (Biggest Football Hit)?

Luke Wade & No Civilians are a alternative rock group from around Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. The band kind of reminds me of JJ Grey & Mofro. They've released their new song "Ghost On A Wire" free for download. Enjoy.
The Futurebirds are a band from Athens, GA. They were all Kappa Sigs at UGA and are blowing up. The band just had an opening act at Bonnaroo. Head to their site to hear more of their music.
Download their debut album "Hampton's Lullaby" here.
Holy shit tits. Bon Iver somehow makes a sad song even sadder. This one really plucks the heart strings. I found this on a British blog called Guardian, and I really liked their writeup and know I can't beat it - so I will leave yall with that.
"Written by Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin and originally recorded by Bonnie Rait in 1991, I Can't Make You Love Me has since been covered by the likes of George Michael and Peter Andre, becoming a staple of heartbreak anthem compilations. The idea for the song came to Reid after he read an article about a man who drunkenly shot at his girlfriend's car and when asked in court if he'd learned anything, replied: 'I learned, your honour, that you can't make a woman love you if she don't.' It's hardly surprising that Bon Iver has managed to inject a song saturated in helpless desperation with even more sadness, his creaking falsetto supported by lonesome piano chords. In the last minute the song bleeds into a version of Rait's Nick of Time, offering up some semblance of hope as he croons, 'I found love darling, love in the nick of time.'"

There's something about this dude that makes me want to make babies.
Drake has been credited with exposing The Weeknd to the public eye, quoting him in one of his Tweets (by the way FOLLOW US ON TWITTER MOTHA TRUCKAS @TuneSpoonTunes) and interviews. Now The Weeknd has out his own spin on Drake's "Trust Issues." Only a matter of time before they collaborate. Then, I lose respect for The Weeknd because Drake sounds like a robot. A black robot. Just sayin'... Or I start liking Drake more. Who funkin' knows.
But besides all that, The Weeknd is supposed to be dropping his new album, Thursday, sometime within the next month. I hate this term, but SCHWING!
UPDATE: A sick remix of "Trust Issues" by The Weekend - done by Tate La Rock and Troublemaker from King Fantastic:

In case you haven't heard of all this recent hacking, here's the news: groups of hackers have been taking down major websites including those affliated with the government. Lulz happens to be one of the most well known groups. Their attacks are generally harmless and are more to bring attention to security gaps rather than take things done. Anyways, you should know the internet isn't exactly the safest place in the world so keep that information spreading to a minimum. Here's a funny tune.
I know I have been drowning you all in music by Odd Future, but in case you haven't heard, they ARE rap's newest supergroup. The star-studded cast includes Tyler The Creator, Frank Ocean, Hodgy Beats, and...
If you are unfamiliar with Odd Future, then you are certainly unfamiliar with Earl. However, if you know a thing or two about the nasty kids from LA, then you know that Earl is the most talented of the OF members.
Musicians, bloggers, news writers, even NPR raves about how Earl is the "foul-mouthed 16-year-old rap prodigy/Odd Future linchpin" and "not only the youngest rapper in the game, but possibly the most talented." He brings a clever, witty attitude towards rap, rivaled only by Eminem (in my own opinion).
Aside from his music, one of the biggest reasons for the creation of his loyal fan base, "The Free Earl Movement", is his story. No more than a year ago, he was sent to a troubled youth reform school in Samoa. The reasons are unknown, but sources say that his mother was upset by his vulgar and violent lyrics. Listening to his lyrics and watching his music video (warning: if you're feeling nauseous, don't watch this video), I am simply SHOCKED. I don't know shit about being a mother, but it seems like she went wrong somewhere. Or, she should just plug her ears and rake in the mounds of cash her son would be making. Dumb ass.
He has had almost no contact with the outside world, but some not-entirely-legit stories have come out. Read for yourself if you're interested...
Anyways, this mixtape thing is THE TITS. So thank you Whole Wheat Cracker for the goodies.
For those of you who haven't seen Pretty Lights in concert, here's a taste of what it's like. I saw him on Saturday night as well at Governor's Ball. It was awesome but I still hold that his show at Hangout Fest last month was the best show ever.
So I saw these guys at the Governor's Ball on Saturday night and, boy, are they weird. The Aussie's can definitely rock though, that's for sure. "Half Mast" is a lesser-known Empire of the Sun tune.

Voxhaul Broadcast is an up-and-coming psychedelic rock/blues band from Orange County, California. They first gained attention with their 2008 EP debut, Rotten Apples. Rotten Apples is personally one of my favorite Voxhaul songs (see music video below), but their recently released album, Timing Is Everything, kicks ass as well.
A common theme in a lot of their songs is tripping. Bad trips, good trips, weird trips, they pretty much cover it all. Rotten Apples was written about a good one, hence the funny/action-packed Western shootout. Cheetah, on the other hand, was written about a bad trip...
"Dennis (lead singer) was driving the band's van to rehearsal at a Los Angeles studio when the mushrooms that he took earlier started to kick in. As the hallucinogens flooded his mind, he parked the unlocked van and went inside and spent the rest of the night writing the song, 'Cheetah.' By the next morning, the van was gone."
Whatever floats your boat or finds your lost remote. Good music nonetheless.
Mexicans With Guns is a musical project by DJ Ernesto Gonzalez. He incorporates a lot of Spanish guitar rifts, live loopings, and some soothing Spanish vocals. The mask he wears kind of reminds me of "The Revolting Blob" from Billy Madison. I'm sure that's what he was going for...
Some new shtuff from Protohype. Dudes are continuing to grow and prosper. It's cool to watch these guys climb the ladder and become more widely known throughout the US.
Below is Protohype's teaser for Imaginationland where tons of big name electro groups played a couple weeks ago. Also, on September 9th, Protohype is gunna be sharing the stage with big name musicians Rusko and Lil' Jon. Keep up the good work dudes.
Symphony of Science takes educational videos and lectures from leading scientists and through computer magic, they turn it into music. The chorus of this song is trippy, and the song itself will make you think about... well... your brain.

Alright, as a continuance from my last post about Odd Future, I'm gonna talk about one of my two favorite members of OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All).
Frank Ocean is originally from the Big Easy, but after Hurricane Katrina, he fled to L.A. and began pursuing a music career. He has written music for Bieber, John Legend, Beyonce, and has worked with artists like Nas and Pharrell Williams. So pretty much he jumped into the music scene early and everyone was diggin' him.
Back in February, he released his first mixtape, nostalgia, ULTRA. Which brought him to life as a solo artist. Since then he has done some stuff with the rest of Odd Future.
He kind of fits in with The Weeknd genre, experimenting with rhythms and incorporating impressive vocals. Check him out like your daddy's prostate.
Although I wish there were lyrics, this song is pretty bomb. I really like the original version of Two Step as well. I've included that, along with another Basic Physics Remix - they've got some skills.

Alright alright. Today I'm going to let you know everything you need to know about one of the fastest growing phenomena in the music world. Throughout the day, I'll put up some killer tracks by each of the different members of Odd Future. Bring an oven, 'cause this shit is raw.
I've already introduced you to the face of Odd Future, Tyler the Creator. As you can tell from his demonic and psychopathic lyrics, they are not in the music game to make friends. They are young, with ages ranging from 17 to 24. But they are the beginning of a new era of rap.
They are anti-establishment, anti-normal, and anti-giving a fu¢K. While a lot of their lyrics involve violent and horrifying imagery, they are good. Really funkin' good. In fact, NPR has an entire in depth article on why everyone should listen to Odd Future.
Members of Odd Future are as follows...
Tyler, the Creator — born Tyler Okonma on March 6, 1991 (age 20), rapper, producer, video director Hodgy Beats — born Gerard Damien Long on November 9, 1990 (age 20), rapper Earl Sweatshirt — born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile on February 24, 1994 (age 17), rapper Domo Genesis — born Domonique Cole on March 9, 1991 (age 20), rapper Mike G — born Mike Griffin on June 6, 1990 (age 21), rapper Frank Ocean — born Christopher Breaux on March 14, 1987 (age 24), singer-songwriter Left Brain — born Vyron Turner, producer Syd the Kyd — born Sydney Bennett on April 23, 1992 (age 19), DJ, producer Matt Martians — born Matthew Martin on September 12, 1988 (age 22), producer, illustrator The Super 3 — born Hal Williams , producer Jasper Dolphin — born Davon Wilson on September 23, 1990 (age 20), rapper, skateboarder Taco — born Travis Bennett on May 16, 1994 (age 17), rapper, skateboarder
I'll refresh your memory on Tyler the Creator with a post I put up a little while back...
Tyler, The Creator just released a new album, Goblin, that includes Yonkers and several other tracks that are getting a lot of attention.
One of which is "She" which is done with Frank Ocean, another dude in Odd Future who is absolutely tearing it up. Here is the recently released music video...
Another popular track from Goblin, which I, personally, don't dig very much is "Sandwitches" which is done with another Odd Future Member, Hodgy Beats. Although the track is very dark with a pretty uncatchy beat, Tyler and Hodgy have performed this song live both on Jimmy Fallon and BBC music. The song epitomizes why being a rule-breaking rebel is cool again. See what you think...
As I hav ethis other beast to tame this summer, I have been really crunched for time recently in the Big Apple. I may have to do more songs in each post just to make sure yalls' ears are satisfied.
First up we have Pretty Lights' latest gift to the world. Mixing Radiohead, Nirvana, and Nin, Mr. Smith produces a dubby, trippy jam.
Pretty Lights - Radiohead vs Nirvana vs NIN
Next is a mashup that is packed full of ear candy. The song is done by D.veloped who is quickly making a name for himself in my iTunes library.
While apart of the post-punk era, these Atlanta dudes like to call themselves "flowery punk." Apparently their live shows include puking, pissing, streaking, fire, chickens, and other wacky antics. Apparently, it is not uncommon for people to run away from their shows, managers to try to fight them after a show, or for them to get kicked out of clubs or venues. I'm sure this video from 2008 shows why...
They recently came out with a new album, Arabia Mountain. Check it ooouuuttt.
Seriously. Chill out with the weird/epic videos. I mean they are pretty cool and all, but does every new video need to be this crazy. I believe this man is from France, and he is 28. This track is pretty crazy and was just featured for the new Assassin's Creed Trailer. It's pretty fitting for the trailer, as Woodkid said in his Zoo Magazine interview via Vimeo, "I had this violence in me that I had to express."
I just saw the new Hangover movie (Spoiler: it's the exact same as the first one, is that a bad thing? Absolutely not). One thing I picked up on is the once again exceptional soundtrack. In case you haven't noticed, I have a weird thing for soundtracks. But these Danzig tracks are a little different than the normal hodgepodge of Rolling Stones and some other badass classic rock that you get in big budget films. They come from the opening credits of both movies.

Roll: Would you be scared if ________ tried to fight you?
A. Carrot Top
B. Ron Weasely
C. Cameron Wilhoit
D. None of the above
The answer is D. Or actually I probably wouldn't fight Carrot Top. Or Ron for that matter...funkin' wizard.
But my point is, redheads are not usually the thug-est beings on the planet. But add a little WOMP and the B.I.G., and a "superginger" could kick anyone's ass.
Many different athletes have tried rapping. First you've got Shaq, teaming up with the late Nate Dogg. Then, you've got Allen Iverson, or better known in the rap world as Jewelz. Even Ron Ron Artest dropped a track. Needless to say, they were all hot hot tracks.
We've got the newest athlete joining the hip-hop world. And his name is Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans running back. In case you didn't know, CJ has a tick or a twitch and sounds like a caveman whenever he speaks (see the YouTube video below).
In case you didn't have dessert, here's my little treat to you.
If you can figure out anything CJ2K is saying in his rap, please let me know.

Sorry it's been a while since my last post - I was in Charlotte this weekend at Paul n Belksta's 21st, NASCAR on Sunday, lake house on Monday, and have been helping Momma Flowmingo move this week.
New Chiddy Bang Album. Anyone have any idea what "swelly" means? I'm at a loss.
When You've Got Music - Chiddy Bang (Ft. The Knocks)
This dude is everywhere. Credit goes to Miss Ali for introducing me to Yelawolf, and credit to Billy the Kid and his love of anything hip-hop related for showing me this song. Make sure you are ready to listen before you play this song, it's the fastest rappers in the world. Busta's verse is sick.
The first thing I like about this video is that I can actually read what the eff Busta is saying. This video also features Yelawolf, an redneck rapper from Alabama. I highly recommend that you check out his bio on his website. His nickname is Joe Dirt, because he has had an equally ridiculous life. I'll post some more songs by him soon once I get a good series that covers the amount of stuff he can do. He can rap over pretty much anything, from Cypress Hill to Fleetwood Mac and The Doors. Damn.
These guys are absolutely nasty. These dudes from Austin, TX (there's actually a fourth dude that joined the crew in 2010) just released their latest album, D, which has been catching a lot of buzz. They are a bluesy, alternative rock band with blushingly good vocals from lead singer, James Petralli.
Some of their older stuff (See "Anvil Everything") is pretty good as well. It has more of a jam feel.
It's here mother lickers. The new MMJ album, Circuital, has finally been released. And, in my opinion, has far exceeded expectations. I think a lot of people were expecting the same fate for MMJ that happened with Kings of Leon, where a less mainstream band attempts to top the charts and sells out. Now Kings of Leon sucks - loyal fans have fled and pop junkies get their quick fix and look for their next hit.
MMJ still shreds it to pieces. Still lots of hair headbanging around the stage. Still the screaming guitars in just about every song. Still the long, powerful notes hit on point by Jim James. Here are a few of my favorites from the album. Enjoy and get addicted...
The first song, "You Wanna Freak Out" is my personal favorite, but I can only give you half of the song. BUY THAT JAZZ.
